PLEASE GIVE US YOUR OPINION

Over the past five months, the Carrollton City School System has been conducting an extensive self-assessment in preparation for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) visit in October.  This process has enabled the CCS System to involve all stakeholders in garnering feedback to assist in the continuous improvement process.

Through a careful analysis of the first four SACS CASI Standards, several recommendations for improvement have been developed and more are anticipated as additional standards are reviewed.  Two such recommendations resulted from the analysis of the first standard — Vision and Purpose.

Feedback from each of the system’s schools and a variety of stakeholders included recommendations to “revisit the system’s vision and mission with stakeholders” and to “consider creating a commitment statement.” To start the process, a team of twenty individuals – comprised of teachers, administrators, support staff, students, parents, and community members – gathered to reaffirm the system’s vision, mission, and guiding principles.  They were then charged with suggesting possible commitment statements, which would encompass the vision and purpose of the Carrollton City School System.

Suggestions from the committee, combined with existing statements within the system, determined a list of commitment statement considerations. The Carrollton Board of Education then charged the System Leadership Team to narrow the suggestions to the top five statements. The survey below is a tool to further seek input from the community as a whole in determining the final choice among the five commitment statements under consideration. The survey is anonymous and no information is collected other than your answers. Thank you for taking the time to complete this short survey.
