David Brooks

Carrollton High School Athletic Director David Brooks joined the CHS faculty in 1998. A native of Tallapoosa, Ga., Brooks is a 1992 graduate of West Georgia College where he earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science. He went on to earn a master's degree in educational administration and then an educational specialist degree in educational administration, both from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Ala.

Brooks began his coaching career at his alma mater, Haralson County High School. During his five years at HCHS, he coached the offensive line and served as the defensive coordinator. He also coached basketball, baseball and tennis. In 1998, Ben Scott, CHS athletic director and head football coach, hired Brooks as a varsity offensive line coach and the ninth grade coach. In 2005, Brooks took over as offensive coordinator and held that position for four years. In 2009, after 18 years of coaching, Brooks moved into the role of athletic director at Carrollton High School and serves as an assistant principal.

During his tenure as a coach for Carrollton, Brooks helped lead the Trojan football team to one state championship, one state runner-up title and four region championships. As offensive coordinator, Brooks saw the Trojans compile a record of 41-8 that included two region championships and a Trojan offense average of more than 30 points and 330 yards per game.

Brooks is married to the former Melanie Gable of Bremen and they have two children, Katey and Hannah.
