Shon Thomaston, Girls Head Basketball Coach: Coach Shon Thomaston is entering his eleventh year as head coach of the Lady Trojans. He began coaching in 1995 at Carrollton Junior High School, where he coached for three years before taking over at CHS in 1998. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1991 and was a four year letterman in basketball under Coach Tim Criswell. Coach Thomaston attended Brewton-Parker College on a basketball scholarship and was a four year letterman. He received his degree in Health, Physical Education, & Recreation in 1995. In 1998, he received an add-on certificate in Special Education from the University of West Georgia. Coach Thomaston has a career record of 184-99 entering his eleventh year as head coach of the Lady Trojans. Coach Thomaston was named Area and Region 6AAA coach of the Year in 2006, 2007, and 2008. He was also named the Southwest GA Mid-season All Star Coach of the Year by the Atlanta Tip-Off Club during the 2006-07 season. Coach Thomaston led the Lady Trojans to a school best record of 29-1 in 2007. He followed that up with a 29-3 record and State Runner-Up finish in class 3A in 2008. The Lady Trojans have advanced to the state playoffs for 7 consecutive seasons and have 6 consecutive seasons of 20 or more victories. He is currently in his fourteenth year as an educator at Carrollton Junior High where he is the Graduation Coach. Coach Thomaston and his wife Sharon have three children, Isaiah, Kaleb, and Zion Amaya.
