Facilities Planning

The Carrollton City School System has a unique footprint that includes all four schools on one contiguous, 130-acre campus. Protecting the integrity of this feature while supporting quality growth and facility development falls under the guidance of the assistant superintendent, who is responsible for developing long-range systemwide building programs, using industry best practices, that create quality learning environments for our students today – and for generations to come.

Facilities Usage

While the primary function is to provide a safe, nurturing learning environment for our students during the school year and beyond, some Carrollton City School System facilities are available for public rental. This program is an extension of the district’s commitment to be a good steward of taxpayer money, as rental fees are used to offset maintenance and operation costs.

Facilities at Carrollton High School, in particular, are eligible for rental through this program. To learn more about availability, please contact the district's event coordinator at 770-834-7726 for more information.

Bid Advertisement/RFP's

As required by law, the Carrollton City School System solicits bids for a variety of needs, from building projects to food contracts to student support services. Advertisement for bids will be posted here and, when required, published in the county legal organ, the Times-Georgian newspaper.

Transportation

Carrollton City School System buses transport about 2,900 children to and from school daily, covering approximately 90,000 miles by the end of school year. The school system’s 37 buses annually consume about 67,000 gallons of diesel fuel, post more than 70,000 miles for field trips alone and cost almost $40,000 a year to maintain. All drivers not only hold specialized commercial driver’s licenses, but each is certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
