MINIMIZING RISK OF LOSS FOR EVERYONE

Protecting our employees, students and the public, in addition to the school system as an organization, from the impact of loss or other uncertainty is known as “risk management.” This program not only is responsible for managing property and casualty insurance programs for the school system, it also partners with staff in schools and other departments to answer insurance questions, investigate accidents, and make safety recommendations to create the safest possible learning and working environment for our students and staff. Below are two key components of our risk management system:

Workers’ compensation insurance

Workers’ compensation is a program created by state law that provides medical, income, and other benefits to employees because of injury, illness or death resulting from a work-related claim covered by the law. If you have been injured while performing your duties as an employee of Carrollton City Schools, you should report the injury as soon as possible. Risk management staff will review the circumstances of the injury and assist you with obtaining necessary medical treatment and benefits to which you may be entitled.

 

Student Insurance

Accidents can occur anywhere, and school is no exception. Carrollton City Schools has partnered with a vendor to offer student accident insurance. If you don’t have other insurance, this plan may be a resource to consider. Additionally, even if you have other coverage, this plan can help fill expensive “gaps” caused by deductibles and co-pays. Coverage may be purchased at any time during the school year.
