BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Albertus was named superintendent of Carrollton City Schools in 2016 following eight years as principal of Carrollton High School and previously as an administrator at Parkview High School in Lilburn, Ga. Dr. Albertus began his education career as a social studies teacher and coach, where he captured two state championships, following military service as an Army officer. He earned his undergraduate degree from Presbyterian College, where he was an NCAA Division II player of the Year for soccer. He also earned his master’s, specialist, and doctoral degrees from the University of Alabama. 

During his tenure as principal and superintendent at Carrollton, Dr. Albertus led the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Diploma program at CHS, was involved in the construction of a new state-of-the-art high school and has forged partnerships with businesses such as RaLin Construction to create additional career pathways and premiere internship opportunities for students. Under his leadership, Carrollton City Schools was named in the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Best Place to Work and its Education Foundation surpassed $1 million in assets. 

Dr. Albertus has participated in Leadership Carroll, the prestigious Leadership Georgia program, and completed the National Superintendent Certification Program. He has served as chairman of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the Board of Trustees for Tanner Medical Foundation, a board member of the local Selective Service System, a deacon at First Baptist Church of Carrollton, and is actively involved in several local civic organizations. He and his wife, Rebecca, are the parents of four children: Joshua, Kate, Andrew and Elizabeth. They reside in Carrollton.
