CHS alum receives full-ride scholarship

A Carrollton High School Class of 2024 graduate has received a scholarship that will provide financial assistance for every semester of her collegiate career.

Regan Kelley received the Hagan Scholarship, a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to allow recipients to graduate college debt-free.  Applicants must attend a traditional public high school governed by a school district.

Regan says receiving the scholarship opened the door to many opportunities for her and her family.

“Being able to go to college at the University of Miami debt-free is the best gift I could give to my parents,” said Regan. “This scholarship will also allow me to study abroad when the time comes, and I am just so grateful and humbled.”

CHS Principal Ian Lyle said he is proud of Regan.

"Regan exemplifies the intelligence, dedication, and hard work that define the students of Carrollton High School. Her achievement not only opens doors for her future but also brings honor to our school and community,” said Lyle. “It is also a testament to the exceptional accomplishments of the entire Class of 2024, who collectively received more than $14 million in scholarship offers. Their determination and success make me proud to have been their principal, and I look forward to seeing all they will achieve in the future."
