At the October Carrollton City Schools Board of Education meeting, the board and district recognized the 2023-2024 Milestone Masters, a group of students who earned perfect scores on one or more sections of the Georgia Milestones Assessment, Georgia’s standardized test which measures how well students understand what they learned in key subject areas.
These students’ achievements reflect their hard work and dedication to mastering subjects, including Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and English Language Arts.
The Georgia Milestones Assessments evaluate how well students have grasped key concepts and skills outlined in state standards. Achieving a perfect score on these assessments is a significant accomplishment and a testament to each student's perseverance and academic ability.
In third grade, Shuvana K.C. and Theron Williams achieved perfect scores in math. Fifth graders Garrett Carter and Bryson Hummer also excelled in math, while Hunter Chen, Bryson Hummer, John Kossitch, and Lily Lovvorn achieved perfect scores in science. In sixth grade, Gavin Cunningham stood out with a perfect score in math. Among eighth graders, Lucy Slappey, Kamai Umiamaka, and Drew Williams excelled in math, while Alaina Dhople earned a perfect score in high school algebra. Elisha Landrum achieved a perfect score in high school physical science, and Maxwell Keefe in eighth grade social studies. High school students Braven Davis and Nathan Corbett achieved perfect scores in American literature, while Abigail McCoy excelled in U.S. history.
"We are incredibly proud of these students for their dedication to learning and achieving such a high level of academic success,” said Carrollton City Schools Superintendent Dr. Mark Albertus. “This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work of both our students and teachers and we look forward to watching their continued success.”
