Parents Right to Know
Right to Know Professional Qualifications of Teachers and Paraprofessionals
Date: August 1, 2025
In compliance with the requirements of the Every Students Succeeds Act (ESSA), the Carrollton City School District would like to inform you that you may request information about the professional qualifications of your student’s teacher(s) and/ or paraprofessional(s). The following information may be requested:
- Whether the student’s teacher—
- has met State qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction;
- is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which State qualification or licensing criteria have been waived; and
- is teaching in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher.
- Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.

Derecho a Conocer las Cualificaciones Profesionales de los Maestros, las Maestras y Paraprofesionales

Conforme a los requisitos de la ley Every Student Succeeds Act, Carrollton City Schools le gustaría comunicarle a usted puede solicitar información sobre las cualificaciones profesionales de los maestros, las maestras y/o paraprofesional(es) de su hijo/a. Usted puede solicitarse la siguiente información:
- Si el maestro o la maestra del alumno:
- cumple con los requisitos, criterios y cualificaciones de la licencia del Estado para el nivel de grado y las áreas académicas en las que el maestro o la maestra enseña;
- está enseñando en carácter de emergencia o provisional a través del cual no se exigen los requisitos y cualificaciones para la licencia del Estado;
- y está enseñando en el campo de disciplina académica de la certificación del maestro.
- Si el niño recibe servicios de paraprofesionales y, en caso afirmativo, sus cualificaciones.
